China’s testing standards for stuffed toys mainly include GB/T 30400-2013 Safety and Health Requirements for Toy Fillers, GB/T 23154-2008 Safety Requirements and Testing Methods for Imported and Exported Toy Fillers. The European standard for foreign testing standards of stuffed toys can refer to the relevant provisions in EN71 standard. American standards can refer to the provisions in ASTM-F963.

The testing items required by GB/T 30400-2013 mainly include hazardous impurities and pollutants testing, impurity content testing, electrostatic testing, flammability testing, odor determination, total bacterial count testing, coliform group testing. The inspection items for export stuffed toys include sensory quality inspection, sharp edge test, sharp tip test, seam tension test, component accessibility test, swelling material test, small part test, and liquid filled toy leakage test.
